Writing the WayWalking the Southern Upland Way can inspire and uplift, leave us with experiences, images and memories that stay with us long after we've walked across its stunning landscapes. We've been asking people to tell us the stories of their journeys along the route by putting pen to paper, and you can now read what people really think about the Scotland's longest walking route! The special 21st anniversary commemorative book 'Writing the Way' has now been published, with contributions from a wide range of people, young and old. There's the experiences of the rangers who look after the Southern Upland Way, people who live nearby for whom the SUW is a big part of their life, photographers, artists and writers who've been inspired by the landscapes along the route and of course those hardy souls who've completed it in one go! All the contributors to the book donated their time and their writing skills with the aim of inspiring others to try the Southern Upland Way for themselves. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to Macmillan Cancer Relief who celebrated the 21st anniversary of route with a sponsored relay walk along its length. You can read some of the journeys from 'Writing the Way' by clicking on the links below, or if you've been inspired by walking the Southern Upland Way yourself, why not tell us about it?
