Insider tips Brilliant for a picnic...Lady Bay, near Stranraer... Lindsay MacGillivray, Springholm,, By Dumfries , Scotland Lady Bay, near Stranraer is a brilliant location for a picnic and a play. I used to go there with my granny and grandad when I was young and we would usually spot a seal or two near the rocks when digging around for interesting shells and pebbles. There is a nice picnic area with benches and a fantastic view. My brother, sister and I loved being able to watch the ferries going in and out, playing in the rock pools and skimming stones across the water. One thing is for certain, after a few hours playing there, we always went to sleep early that night too!
