Lincluden Collegiate Church
Melissa Stewart, Community Development Worker (Culture/Heritage) Dumfries, Scotland
Lincluden Collegiate Church situated on the banks of the beautiful River Nith is one of the finest examples of medieval architecture in Scotland. An ancient college of canons was founded there by Archibald the Grim, and it is the last resting place of a Scottish Princess. It has a wonderfully evocative atmosphere, and is as beautiful in the depths of winter as it is during a Dumfries & Galloway springtime.
