Big Burns Supper is the newest festival in Dumfries and is a fantastic collection of events across two days including music, theatre, visual arts, dance, film and cabaret.

The first annual festival runs from 27 to 28 January 2012 and celebrates Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns, with over 80 different shows involving over 2,000 performers in around 50 venues.

The Big Burns Supper kicks off with an outdoor spectacular at the Whitesands at 6pm on Friday, with a community performance project which will be broadcast on four giant screens, and finishing with the whole town singing Auld Lang Syne.

Enjoy innovative music as part of the festival, such as Bring your ma, a performance of songs and tunes with a Dumfriesshire connection, and Burns-related comedy such as About Tam o’Shanter at the Coach and Horses Inn.
