Choose from Dumfries & Galloway’s three excellent golf trails - the Tiger Trail, the Challenge Trail and the Little Gems Trail.
The Tiger Trail focuses on the premier courses of Dumfries & Galloway. These are all exceptional venues that deliver all the right ingredients in terms of length, quality, landscape and character.
Included are such epic golfing challenges as Southerness and Powfoot. Then there’s Dumfries & Galloway, a lovely parkland course with tree-lined fairways and greenside ponds. Portpatrick’s tricky Dunskey course nestles in the heath overlooking the sea towards Ireland. You’ll need to bring your top game for the Tiger Trail.
The Challenge Trail features a range of memorable courses that are ideally suited to the majority of golfers. There is no shortage of quality here either with excellent courses like Wigtownshire County which asks questions of low and high handicappers, and Moffat where you’ll do well to shoot low.
Newton Stewart is a parkland gem in the heart of the Galloway Hills. Lochmaben is another lovely parkland course where the 2nd hole takes you past the site of Robert the Bruce’s castle. And Wigtownshire County is a stunning links course by Luce Bay.
The Little Gems Trail focuses mostly on the region’s 9-hole courses which can offer up an hour or two of real golfing pleasure and are perhaps ideal for families and those who are short of time. New Galloway and Gatehouse of Fleet are great fun and will also keep you on your toes. Solway Links near Dalbeattie prides itself on being a family friendly venue. The Little Gems Trail gives you great golf at very little cost.
With plenty high quality accommodation nearby, whatever trail may appeal to you, they are certainly a great way of exploring the golf courses of Dumfries & Galloway
